Requirements:
Diploma from a recognized apprenticeship program or equivalent.
1+ years F&B related experience, preferably on a cruise ship.
Excellent knowledge of international cuisine.
Fluent English and preferably 1+ additional language.
Pleasant, positive and outgoing personality.
Punctual.
Well-groomed and neat appearance.
Ability to perform well under pressure.
Responsibilities:
Present menu to guests, suggest food or beverage selections, and answer questions regarding preparation and service.
Take orders for food or beverage.
Serve meals or beverages to guests.
Compute cost of meal or beverage.
Accept payment and return change or refer guests to Cashier.
Remove dishes and glasses from table or counter and take them to kitchen for
cleaning.
Clean and arrange assigned station, including side stands, chairs, and table pieces such as linen, silverware, and glassware.
Prepare hot, cold, and mixed drinks for guests, and chill bottles of wine.
Garnish and decorate dishes preparatory to serving.
Fill salt, pepper, sugar, cream, condiment, and napkin containers.
Carve meats, bone fish and fowl, and prepare special dishes and desserts at work
station or guests' table.
Relay order to kitchen or enter order into computer.
Observe guests to respond to additional requests, and to determine when meal has been completed or beverage consumed.
Serve or assist guests to serve themselves, at buffet or smorgasbord table.
Obtain and replenish supplies of food, tableware, and linen.
