Requirements:

BA in journalism or similar.

In-depth knowledge of desktop publishing and graphic design.

Knowledge of scanner, CD ROM drive, laser printer.

Excellent command of English.

Fluency in 1 additional language such as German, French, Italian or Spanish a plus.

Excellent knowledge of Word, PageMaker, and Corel Draw.

Excellent organizational, communication and customer relations skills.

Outgoing and pleasant personality.

Responsibilities:

Desktop publishing coordinator.

Format typescript and graphic elements using computer software to produce publication-ready material.

Activate options, such as masking, pixel (picture element) editing, airbrushing, or image retouching.

Study layout or other instructions to determine work to be done and sequence of operations.

Load floppy disks or tapes containing information into onboard computar system.

Create special effects such as vignettes, mosaics and image combining.

Save completed work on floppy disks, magnetic tapes or CDs.

Enter digitized data into electronic prepress system computer memory using scanner, camera, keyboard, or mouse.

Enter data such as coordinates of images and colour specifications into system to retouch and make colour corrections.

Activate options such as masking or text processing.

View monitors for visual representation of work in progress and for instructions and feedback throughout process.

Enter data such as background color, shapes and coordinates of images.

Responsible for all onboard printed matters and timely production.

Coordinate the translation of printed matters into foreign languages.

Publication of daily newsletter.
