Fire fighter

One of the expert type cruise jobs with overall income per month between $1,400-$2,000.

Requirements:

Associate degree or higher in Fire Science plus all necessary certificates as a paramedical license.

Responsibilities:

Control and extinguish fires, protect life and property, and maintain equipment.

Respond to fire alarms and other emergency calls.

Select hose nozzle depending on type of fire and direct stream of water or chemicals onto fire.

Protect property from water and smoke by use of waterproof salvage covers, smoke ejectors, and deodorants.

Administer first aid and artificial respiration to injured persons and those overcome by fire and smoke.

Communicate with superior during fire using portable two-way radio.

Inspect staterooms for fire hazards and compliance with fire prevention ordinances.

Perform assigned duties in maintaining apparatus, equipment, quarters, staterooms, grounds, and hydrants.

Participate in drills, demonstrations, and courses in hydraulics, pump operation and maintenance, and firefighting techniques.
