Requirements:
Extensive 5-8 years experience in a similar position onboard.
Graduate of accredited maritime school.
In-depth knowledge of the engineering aspects of maritime shipping and all
necessary certificates and licenses.
Responsibilities:
Direct activities of engineers engaged in preparing designs and plans to construct,
enlarge, and modify certain facilities onboard.
Plan and direct activities concerned with water utility systems installation, operation, maintenance, and service.
Provide engineering and technical direction for planning and design of water utility
projects.
May direct and coordinate engineers in conducting studies such as economics of
systems operation, water distribution, and water treatment plants or relative
equipment performance to determine most feasible approach to meeting technical problems.
Review plans and specifications prior to instituting project to determine whether they meet organizational requirements.
Analyze and compile data received from engineers to prepare budget estimates.
Confer with Company's authorities concerning budget requirements, changes in
organizational policy, regulation of water rates, and plumbing requirements.
