Requirements:
Certificate of Eligibility issued by accredited maritime school or facility.
Excellent command of English language, both written and spoken.
May need valid ENG1 Medical Certification.
Fire Fighting Certification.
Knowledge and experience of modern marine plant, ideally onboard cruise ships.
Good IT skills and ability to manipulate modern Windows based packages.
Ability to work as part of a large team and take responsibility for own actions.
Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with both internal and external customers.
Commitment to achieve career development and desire to progress to higher ranks.
Responsibilities:
Engaged in watchkeeping duties on a rotational basis with other 2nd Engineer
Officers.
Management and control of main plant from Engine Control Room.
Maintenance duties in and around the marine plant including power generation, engine maintenance, oil purification, etc.
Control and maintenance of passenger services equipment (i.e. fresh water, sanitary systems, electrical supplies, HVAC, swimming pools, etc.)
Supervision of Junior Officers and Ratings.
Socializing and mixing with guests in a courteous manner.
Offer technical support to Passenger Services and Deck Department as may
required to ensure exceptionally high standards of customer care are maintained.
